Here are the webinar objectives and some of the things that you’ll learn:

Module 1

  • State the purposes, benefits, and key elements of the PCC Zero Defects (ZDP) Program.
  • List the PCC Cardinal Rules of Quality.
  • Identify the AESQ standards and customer requirements that drive the ZDP approach.
  • Define types of waste in manufacturing.
  • List elements included in the calculation of Cost of Non-Conformance or Cost of Waste.
  • Explain the focus and purpose of the Process Flow Diagram (PFD), the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and the Control Plan.

  • Explain the importance of measurement certainty and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
  • List the key sources of measurement error.
  • Explain the concepts of bias, repeatability, and reproducibility.
  • Explain the purpose and key elements of a control chart.
  • Compare and contrast statistical control and statistical capability.
  • Explain and compare Cp, Cpk, and Ppk.
  • Identify applicable Minitab Quality Trainer chapters.

Module 3

  • List the Nine Steps of the 8D Process.
  • Perform a 5 Why Analysis.
  • Contrast Human Error and Human Factors.
  • Discuss the PEAR Model of Human Factors.
  • List the Dirty Dozen of Human Factors.
  • Define Prevention and Detection Error Proofing and Poka Yokes.

Required and Recommended Preparation:

  • Participants will be emailed pdfs of participant materials or will be directed to a download site; participants are responsible for printing and binding course materials. Pens, pencils, and highlighters are also required.
  • For courses in this series participants are encouraged to have a computer loaded with Microsoft Excel 2010 or higher and  Minitab 19 or higher; a trial version of Minitab is available at http://www.minitab.com/en-us/products/minitab/ . Completion of Minitab Quality Trainer and/or experience with Minitab is highly recommended.
  • A dual monitor or dual device configuration is highly recommended to allow for real-time practice.
